What Counts as Proof
A portfolio is not only for designers. Any role can show thinking through a compact artifact.
Examples:
- Analyst: public dataset analysis with recommendations.
- Product manager: product teardown and prioritized opportunity memo.
- Engineer: architecture note explaining tradeoffs in a small demo.
- Operations: process redesign with before/after workflow.
- Recruiter: sourcing strategy for a hard-to-fill role.
The three proof standards
Good proof is:
- Relevant: tied to the target role's real work.
- Bounded: small enough to review in 5-8 minutes.
- Discussable: you can explain tradeoffs, constraints, and alternatives.
Try it yourself
Choose one artifact you could build in four hours or less. If it would take a month, narrow the scope.

Use Proof Without Being Pushy
Proof-of-work works best when it is offered lightly.
